About

My name is Robert Brovarnik, my friends call me Robby, occasionally Rob or Robs, I have even heard the occasional Bob (hopefully I can hold out till 50 before Bob becomes the standard). I am a first generation Ukrainian American, and as cliche as it sounds, I am starting this blog because of a passion in fitness. I am currently in my fourth year at San Francisco State University finishing up a kinesiology degree with an emphasis in movement science. I have been active my whole life participating in activities such as kung fu, judo, wrestling, skateboarding, basketball, football, soccer, and currently surfing and bodybuilding. I consider being active a norm in my life, and it upsets me to know it is not a norm within most people’s lives in our society. We have been robbed of our ability to move correctly, the most basic activity, due to a modern world imposed on our ancient bodies. I want this blog to help people understand what it takes to achieve certain levels of fitness, what benefits they can reap from exercise, and how their daily habits contribute to a decreased quality of life.
